On July 14, 2020, the Trump Administration settled its lawsuit with Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) by rescinding the F-1 student visa policy announced by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) on July 6, 2020. This policy banned foreign students from studying in the United States if universities cancelled in-person instruction due to COVID-19.
Effective immediately, students may begin or continue instruction and classes in the United States, even if universities elect to proceed with online classes to preserve the health and safety of students, staff, and faculty during the COVID-19 pandemic.
